For the first time ever, The Moth and Guild Hall partner to present “Big Night: The Moth in East Hampton,” a powerful evening of storytelling where five everyday people — who craft their true experiences into 10-minute tales with the help of Moth directors — share true personal stories without notes.

The team behind the Peabody Award-Winning “The Moth Radio Hour” and WEBBY Award-Winning “The Moth Podcast” brings its signature two-act show to Guild Hall on Friday, September 13, at 7:30 p.m. The night will feature a line-up of storytellers, including famed playwright Doug Wright, on-screen personality Jameer Pond, acclaimed chef Arlene Stewart and others sharing tales of glory or defeat, win or lose, the culmination of forces both within reach and beyond control. “Big Night” will be hosted by noted stand-up comic, writer, Moth storyteller and host Ophira Eisenberg. This show is directed by The Moth’s executive producer, Sarah Austin Jenness and presented in partnership with Guild Hall and WSHU Public Radio.

The Moth is a nonprofit dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling. For over 27 years, The Moth has presented over 60,000 true personal stories, told live, without notes, to standing-room-only audiences and virtually around the globe. Renowned for showcasing a broad range of human experiences, The Moth produces approximately 600 live and virtual shows each year and has an ongoing presence in 27 cities worldwide.

Tickets are $60 to $100 ($54 to $90 members) at themoth.org/Easthampton. Guild Hall is at 158 Main Street in East Hampton.
