Brandon Boyd, the lead singer of the platinum-selling rock band, Incubus, has been tapped to display a series of his most recent artwork at The Surf Lodge in Montauk this summer. Several of his abstract paintings will remain on display at the property now until the fall. For added synergy, The Surf Lodge, best known for a summer concert series that attracts world-class musicians, also commissioned the vocalist and artist to paint the backdrop of its outdoor stage, which will once again host a series of live music acts this season.

“Displaying my work at The Surf Lodge was a natural fit,” says Boyd. “It has become a cultural hub, a place where art intersects with music, food, and design. I love the fact that people have the opportunity to take in my work, all while catching a live music act; it’s the perfect collision of both my worlds.”

“I first collaborated with Brandon a few years back at The Surf Lodge pop-up in Art Basel,” says Jayma Cardoso, founder and creative director of The Surf Lodge. “I instantly became enamored with his work and jumped at the opportunity to partner with him again this summer. Brandon is such an incredible, multi-dimensional talent, and it is a true honor to have his art displayed at the property.”

Over the Fourth of July weekend, Boyd was on-site at The Surf Lodge for a larger exhibition where he brought out several new and never seen before pieces, including co-designed artwork he made with SNL actress Melissa Villasenor and celebrity photographer Brian Bowen Smith. Additionally, he live painted two canvases that will remain on display, along with his other work, for the duration of the season.

This fall, Boyd is set to launch a new art community, Moonlight Arts Collective, that will feature multi-dimensional artists including other musicians, actors, and cultural icons who “moonlight” as visual artists. A curated selection of prints from their roster will also be featured at The Surf Lodge at various points this summer.

The Surf Lodge is at 183 Edgemere Street, Montauk. For more information visit thesurflodge.com.
