East Quogue’s Linda Nelson, author of the “Blue Squirrel Series” of children’s books, will make a return to engagement at The New Moon Café in East Quogue on Saturday, June 1, from noon to 2 p.m. to sign copies of her books.

To date, Nelson has written three books about squirrels. She will have Gus, her blue squirrel puppet, with her during this signing. The audience for her books are children in kindergarten on up. She has written about animals in a fictional form for some time and her inspiration for her books is her love of children and the pleasure reading brings to young audiences. The “Blue Squirrel Series” follows the main character, Gus, and each book holds a new adventure for Gus and his friends. Each book also makes a reference to the color blue which is significant to the moral at the end of the story.

Admission to the event is free. Peppermint patties and water will be offered and books will be available for $20 each. All books will be signed and a question-and-answer segment will take place after a brief introduction of her books.

The New Moon Café is at 524 Montauk Highway in East Quogue.
