Three-time British Blues Guitarist of the Year Matt Schofield will perform at The Suffolk on Sunday, August 24, at 8 p.m.
Schofield, a British-born, U.S.-based blues guitarist, is widely regarded as one of the most influential and distinctive players of his generation. Over a career spanning three decades, he has earned numerous accolades, including “British Blues Album of the Year” and induction into the British Blues Awards Hall of Fame — the first guitarist to receive that honor.
Named one of the “Top Ten British Blues Guitarists of All Time” by Guitar & Bass Magazine, alongside legends like Eric Clapton and Peter Green, Schofield has also received praise from Mojo Magazine, which called one of his releases “Blues Album of the Year.”
Known for his fluid, melodic playing and iconic tone, Schofield is also the namesake of a signature Two-Rock amplifier. His performances have graced major international festivals, including Montreal and North Sea Jazz, and legendary venues such as New York’s Iridium and London’s 100 Club.
In addition to his live performances, Schofield is a respected musical educator. His 2018 instructional series “Blues Speak” remains highly regarded, and he has taught clinics around the world — from Tokyo to Texas. Schofield’s upcoming record will mark the 20th anniversary of his solo debut, reuniting him with his original organ trio lineup.
Tickets are $29 to $49 at thesuffolk.org. The Suffolk is located at 118 East Main Street, Riverhead.
