Suffolk Theater will once again welcome New York casting director Stephen DeAngelis, along with five leading Broadway stars, to present “Broadway Showstoppers” a cabaret performance featuring some of Broadway’s greatest show-stopping tunes — making for a can’t-miss event for theater lovers of all ages.
The afternoon show, on Sunday, May 7, at 4 p.m., will feature musical selections from shows in which these stars actually performed such as “The Producers,” “Hamilton,” “Grease,” “Guys and Dolls,” “Chicago,” “Come From Away,” “Jekyll & Hyde,” “Jesus Christ Superstar” and others.
The cast will feature: John Treacy Egan (“The Producers,” “My Fair Lady,” “Sister Act,” “Bye Bye Birdie,” “The Little Mermaid, “Nice Work If You Can Get It”); Julie Reiber (“Come From Away,” “Newsies,” “On a Clear Day You Can See Forever,” “All Shook Up,” “Wicked”); Brennyn Lark (“Six the Musical,” “Les Miserables”); Eric Jordan Young (“Chicago,” “Ragtime,” “Seussical,” “The Look of Love”); and Jessie Hooker-Bailey (“Waitress,” “Disney Princess Party”).
A sneak peek at some musical selections includes: “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat” from “Guys and Dolls”; “Hopelessly Devoted to You” from “Grease”; “King Herod Song” from “Jesus Christ Superstar”; “You’ll Be Back” from “Hamilton” and “The King of Broadway” from “The Producers.”
