On Saturday, April 23 at 5 p.m. poet/farmer Scott Chaskey and poet Kevin Coffey will read and discuss the influence of William Butler Yeats' poem "Easter 1916". Marking the 100th anniversary of the poem and the Irish Rebellion that occasioned it, the program will also include Irish rebel songs performed by Terry Sullivan. A reading of the Easter Proclamation and excerpts from the letters and writings of James Connolly, socialist leader and Irish Republican who played a prominent role in the uprising will be included.
