The Southampton Cultural Center will host “Diaspora Vibe 2.0,” the 16th annual Caribbean Crossroads Series exhibition, which will be on view from Saturday, August 11, through Sunday, August 26.
Featured artwork will include painting, photography, installation, mixed media, metal works, wood carvings, printmaking, textile and handmade paper miniature drawings. Participating artists include Edouard Duval-Carrié, Yasser Castellanos, Juan Erman Gonzalez, Hugo Moro, Rosa Garmendia and Carol Jaime.
The exhibit opens with an artist-interactive fundraising gala honoring artist advocate Grace Y. Ingelton on Saturday, August 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the museum. Celebrity chef Mark Bailey will prepare Caribbean and Latin cuisine.
“Diaspora Vibe 2.0” will provide opportunities for audiences of all ages to meet, learn about art, and make art with international, regional and local artists through group and private gallery tours, one-on-one conversations, artist-led demonstrations and workshops. Additionally, the two-week exhibition will include a an artists marketplace at the Southampton Inn.
