The internationally acclaimed Dance Theatre of Harlem will make its Hamptons debut this summer with a three-day residency at Guild Hall from July 23 to July 25, followed by a special performance on Friday, July 25, and a private reception on Saturday, July 26, in Water Mill.
The residency marks a major cultural moment for the East End, extending Dance Theatre of Harlem’s mission of artistic excellence and community engagement. As part of the visit, the company will partner with local organizations, including the Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center, and present its “Dancing in the Streets” program — an initiative that reflects the company’s core belief that dance is for everyone.
On Saturday, July 26, the company will be honored at a private, invitation-only reception, capping off its inaugural Hamptons residency.
Dance Theatre of Harlem was founded in 1969 by Arthur Mitchell and Karel Shook, and has since become a leading force in classical ballet, known for breaking boundaries and expanding access to the art form. The company has stood as a dynamic force in the ballet world, captivating audiences both nationally and internationally.
