On Thursday, October 10, at 8 p.m., The Suffolk presents “Celebrating Meat Loaf,” featuring “American Idol” winner Caleb Johnson and Meat Loaf’s official band Neverland Express.

Created by Meat Loaf’s record producer, music director and guitarist Paul Crook, “Celebrating Meat Loaf” is the only show that was officially endorsed by Meat Loaf himself.

“The only band fully endorsed by Jim Steinman and myself. I truly believe you will enjoy this show,” Brian May, founding member of Queen, also stated, “Do not miss this! This is the closest you could possibly get … This is not a tribute band but Meat’s incredible, actual band. Singer, Caleb, has all the power and glory of Meat in his glory days and this band Rocks!”

The Neverland Express band includes musicians who toured with Meat Loaf themselves — led by Paul Crook featuring John Miceli (drums), Randy Flowers (guitar) and Lyssa Lynne (vocals). As a group, the band stays true to the original recordings while delivering the excitement of a live Meat Loaf show.

Enter lead vocalist Caleb Johnson, bringing the power that so few can to Meat Loaf’s booming ballads. In addition to a #1 album and touring with some of the biggest names in rock, Johnson is the winner of American Idol season 13. He delivers his own unique stamp to such classics as “Bat Out of Hell,” “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” and “I Would Do Anything for Love” while staying true to the essence of Meat Loaf’s delivery.

Tickets range from $60 to $90 at thesuffolk.org. The Suffolk is at 118 East Main Street in Riverhead.
