Southampton Arts Center (SAC) presents the acclaimed comedy Broadway sensation “Celebrity Autobiography” for one night only with an all-star cast including Christie Brinkley, Mario Cantone, Richard Kind, Susan Lucci, Eugene Pack, Sherri Shepherd and Alan Zweibel. Created by Emmy nominee Eugene Pack and developed with Dayle Reyfel, the show features stars acting out hilarious passages from other stars’ memoirs. The performance will take place in SAC’s theater on Saturday, August 20, with shows at 7 and 9 p.m.
How does Vanna flip her panels? What does Stallone store in his freezer? Why did Justin Bieber get stuck in the trunk of a car? What does Hasselhoff reveal about the beauties of Baywatch? The passages shared in “Celebrity Autobiography” run the gamut from the “poetry” of Suzanne Somers to tips from the Kardashians to the most famous Hollywood love triangle in history — Elizabeth Taylor, Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, told from all sides. What is remarkable and hilarious is that everything on stage is performed “in their own words.”
“We’re due for a laugh and could not be more excited to bring this incredible show to Southampton Arts Center,” said SAC general manager Joe Diamond. “‘Celebrity Autobiography’ is a fantastic way to bring the community together with these hilarious performers, some who have special ties of their own to the East End, for some good old-fashioned comedy. It’s a really unique show, and we’re honored to host the only performance in the Hamptons this year.”
“Celebrity Autobiography” has been critically acclaimed around the world from the U.S. to London’s West End, Edinburgh, Australia’s Sydney Opera House and an engagement on Broadway. The show originally opened in New York to rave reviews and won the Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience.
Tickets for “Celebrity Autobiography” at SAC are $125 ($150 (premium seating in first three rows) at southamptonartscenter.org. Southampton Arts Center is at 25 Jobs Lane, Southampton.
