The 22nd presentation of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” by the Conservatory of Danse Arts, and the third since Megan Cancellieri took over the school and ballet company founded by Aras Ames and Simon Caudullo, was given three performances at Southampton High School last weekend.

With a new “snow set” designed by Cynthia Knott and other new sets from Kenmark Studios and choreography by Betteanne Terrell and Megan Cancellieri, this year’s “Nutcracker” featured Megan Cancellieri and Darion Smith in the Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier pas de deux. As usual, members of the Cancellieri family pitched in on all fronts, with Francisca Cancellieri in charge of costumes and appearing in the ballet, and Rusty Cancellieri and Brian Cancellieri working on the stage crew and also appearing in the roles of Grandfather and Drosselmeyer, respectively.
