East End Jazz will present “Music Around the Globe,” a free concert on Wednesday, June 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the Southampton History Museum’s historic Sayre barn. This unique program will explore diverse international melodies reimagined through jazz, with a special musical connection to the museum’s history.
Attendees will discover the diversity and beauty of music from a wide range of countries, including the United States, Mexico, Cuba, Brazil, South Africa, Italy, France, Germany, South Korea and Japan. East End Jazz is committed to presenting jazz in engaging and accessible ways; this program promises to be a delightful exploration of global sounds filtered through the artistry of talented jazz musicians. The concert features Iris Ornig on bass, Eugenia Choe on piano and Alex Wyatt on drums.
“Our mission is to bring enriching jazz experiences to our community,” says Ornig, director of the nonprofit East End Jazz. “We’re thrilled to share this free concert in such a beautiful, historic setting.”
Admission is free for all ages, but reservations are required due to limited seating at southamptonhistory.org. Southampton History Museum is at 17 Meeting House Lane in Southampton.
