Tessa Arnzen, Kristina Georges, Sofia Skoldberg and Ethan Young may still be students, but they’ve each realized they have a voice — and an instrument — and know how to use them.

Inspired by the 70th anniversary of the worldwide Human Rights Initiative introduced at the United Nations in 1948 by Eleanor Roosevelt, the violist, two violinists and cellist, respectively — each between the age of 12 and 14 — crafted a program of string quartets by Bartók, Boccherini, Borodin, Mendelssohn and Mozart that they find inspirational.

“The young musicians have related the experience of working as a team to the core of Human Rights, in the sense that to accomplish true harmony musically, they have to respect many facets of each other’s talent and personality,” according to a press release. “In essence, they must be free to learn and invest time to practice as a group and also individually. Their goal is to communicate that music is a universal language that evokes emotional reactions. Performing or listening, music allows us to share moments of joy and contemplation.”

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. at the Cultural Center, located at 25 Pond Lane in Southampton, and a reception will immediately follow. Copies of a booklet describing all 30 human rights will be available. Admission is free. For more information, please call (631) 287-4377 or visit scc-arts.org.
