Celebrate love, life and community with multi-chef tastings, an open bar and live entertainment during “In the Pink” on Saturday, March 30, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at 230 Elm Productions in Southampton — all in honor of Rita Wasserman.
The Ellen Hermanson Foundation will present Wasserman with a Lifetime Community Achievement Award during its annual fundraiser, recognizing her as “a beacon of hope for others who are affected by breast cancer.”
“She has been a shining star for The Foundation and Ellen’s Run for over 15 years,” according to a press release.
In addition to her involvement with the Ellen Hermanson Foundation, Wasserman has served as lead usher at Guild Hall in East Hampton for more than 10 years, and is responsible for scheduling volunteers at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor. She also devotes her time to Defend H2O, Coalition for Women’s Cancers, Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center, Hamptons International Film Festival and the Springs Citizens Advisory Committee, and has served for many years on the East Hampton Democratic Committee.
Wasserman is a proud supporter of the East Hampton Library, Slow Food East End, Wellness Foundation, and the Neo-Political Cowgirls. As part of “In the Pink,” The HooDoo Loungers will perform, and award-winning comedian Angela LaGreca will host a live auction.
Food will be provided courtesy of 230 Elm Productions, 1 North Steakhouse, Art of Eating, CowFish, DeJesus Deli & Taqueria, Erica’s Rugelach & Baking Co., The Golden Pear Cafe, Hampton Coffee Company, Hamptons Farms, Julie Bakes, Poppin Patties, Robbins Wolfe Eventeurs, Saaz Indian Cuisine, South Fork Bakery, Stuart’s Seafood Market, The Maidstone Hotel and more.
Dress is festive casual. Tickets are $100, $170 per couple and $250 for benefactors. Proceeds will benefit The Ellen Hermanson Breast Center at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and Ellen’s Well, which provides oncological social worker-led support groups, nutrition, yoga, reiki and other healing opportunities for breast cancer survivors.
“Programs sponsored by Ellen’s Well are free of charge,” the release said. “No patient is turned away from The Ellen Hermanson Breast Center for lack of insurance or inability to pay for treatment.”
