The Suffolk presents “Evil Woman: The American ELO” on Saturday, August 10, at 8 p.m.

Picking up where the Beatles left off in 1970, the U.K.-based ELO expanded the concept of great melodies, epic song structures and grand orchestrations where cellos coexisted with guitars, and where classically tinged progressive rock intersected with hook-filled, radio-friendly pop songs resulting in ELO becoming one of the most popular groups of the 1970s and perhaps even more so today.

“Evil Woman: The American ELO” presents a multimedia concert celebration of the music of ELO complete with a full 12-piece band including violins, violas, and cellos. Their attention to detail from vocal harmonies to string arrangements is as accurate as possible to how ELO intended it.

Alongside the music, Evil Woman boasts unique video content for each song, truly bringing to life all their smash hit songs like “Mr. Blue Sky,” “Telephone Line,” “Don’t Bring Me Down,” “Livin’ Thing,” “Evil Woman,” “Roll Over Beethoven” and so many more.

Tickets are $59 to $79 at thesuffolk.org. The Suffolk is at 118 East Main Street in Riverhead.
