This camp will be held with two groups, ages 7 to 12 and ages 13 to 17. The camps will be held in tandem and both age levels will combine to perform this lively adaptation of Shakespeare’s musical comedy in a final performance for friends and family on Saturday, November 12.
Meghan Rafferty’s On-Camera Acting Class
Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon
October 1 – November 5
Ages 16 and up.
$300 for six sessions.
Each week participants will be given a new scene to work on; one of the weeks will be focused on “cold reading,” a common phenomenon in the world of auditioning for film and television.
Students will potentially have just 20 minutes to prepare an audition. The audition process has changed drastically in the last two years. Gone are the days of crowded audition rooms. In the future, there will be more opportunities for actors who live places other than New York City or Los Angeles. But first they must learn how to make a great self-tape.
Rafferty will give invaluable feedback on audition scenes and offer advice on all aspects of self-taping. She will also give her industry insight to anyone who brings their headshot and resume.
The class is open to beginners as well as seasoned professionals.
