On July 31, the Hampton Library’s Fridays at Five series will continue with Florence Fabricant, an acclaimed food writer and columnist who contributes weekly columns to The New York Times.

Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, The Financial Times, and The Wall Street Journal. Ms. Fabricant is the author of 12 cookbooks, most recently a book written with Eric Asimov, entitled “Wine with Food: Pairing Notes & Recipes from the NY Times”, an INDIEFAB Book of the Year Awards finalist. Her other books include “The New York Restaurant Cookbook,” “New Home Cooking,” “The New York Times Dessert Cookbook,” “The New York Times Seafood Cookbook” and “Park Avenue Potluck.” Currently, Ms. Fabricant teaches memoir writing at the MFA program at Hunter College. She is a graduate of Barnard College and the MFA program at Columbia University.

Fridays at Five is a long time tradition for the Hampton Library and the South Fork. For more than 30 years, the library has hosted a variety of well-known authors on Fridays in July and August. The evening begins with wine and hors d' oeuvres prepared by the Friends of the Hampton Library. The event will open at 4:30 p.m. with the program running from 5 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $20.
