The Victor D’Amico Institute of Art in Amagansett (aka The Art Barge) gets warmed up for a dynamic summer season on Sunday, May 19 with a Founders Day event. This year’s event will focus on the Mabel and Victor D’Amico Studio and Archive with the summer exhibition “Four Glass Artists” opening with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. at the D’Amico House near The Art Barge. The show features the work of local glass artists Hokansen+Dix, Andy Stenerson, and Marianne Weil. Mr. Stenerson is a glass artist based in East Hampton, as is the husband and wife studio of Bengt Hokansen and Trefny Dix. Marianne Weil lives and works in Orient, on the North Fork.
The exhibition will be on view through September 7 with visits and tours of the house arranged by appointment. The D’Amico Studio and Archive is located at 128 Shore Road, Lazy Point, Amagansett. The Art Barge will also be open on Founders Day for visitors to tour the building, learn about its history, get information about the summer workshop schedule, and absorb the breathtaking natural surroundings.
