The Suffolk will welcome back Glen Burtnik's Summer of Love Concert to celebrate the 56th anniversary of Woodstock on Friday, August 15.
Glen Burtnik’s Summer of Love Concert is more than just a concert, it’s an authentic rock festival on one stage, celebrating the classic rock & soul of the 1960’s and 70’s – the music of the Woodstock generation.
The show is comprised of 16 performers featuring vocalists, a horn section, strings, keyboards, background vocalists and a rock rhythm section enhanced by an exciting psychedelic lighting and video show, faithfully re-creating the songs and the psychedelic spirit of that era.
The Summer of Love Concert was created by Glen Burtnik. Burtnik is an alumnus of Styx; performed the role of Paul in the original Beatlemania on Broadway; is the touring bassist/vocalist for the current version of ELO, The Orchestra; is a member of The Weeklings; and is a major label (A&M) solo recording artist and hit songwriter.
Audiences will hear songs from classic artists like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Dylan, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Marvin Gaye, and more.
Glen Burtnik’s Summer of Love Concert is on Friday, August 15, at 8 p.m. at The Suffolk, 118 East Main Street, Riverhead. Tickets begin at $49. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit thesuffolk.org.
