Guild Hall Museum Reopens

authorStaff Writer on Jun 24, 2020

The first day of summer has arrived and in that spirit of optimism, Guild Hall celebrates the reopening of the Guild Hall Museum on Friday, June 26, from noon to 5 p.m. The 82nd Artist Members Exhibition featuring 400 participants is on view in the galleries, and online sales of the artwork benefit both the artists and Guild Hall 50/50.

Guild Hall’s aim this summer is not just to reopen the physical space, but to reinvigorate the artistic community of the East End by offering paid opportunities to area artists and performers.

New precautions are in place for the care of all visitors, staff and artists.

• Free reservations for timed one-hour visits are required and can be made online.

• There will be a limit of 30 persons in the museum at any given time.

• A mask must be worn while visiting Guild Hall.

• Six feet social distancing will practiced.

Artists have always been Guild Hall’s greatest resource, and joining together with their limitless creativity, the staff has redesigned the summer 2020 season to present a range of performing and visual art experiences both virtually and in-person.

Guild Hall’s indoor and outdoor spaces are being reconfigured for smaller, more intimate theatrical performances, exhibitions and arts education. Gardens and grounds have been transformed into magical spaces for ‘en plein air’ programs and installation.

For details, visit guildhall.org. Guild Hall is at 158 Main Street, East Hampton.
