author on Oct 12, 2010

Professional actor, director and acting coach Stephen Hamilton has announced the fall session of acting classes at his studio in Sag Harbor.

Established and aspiring actors will explore the central elements of the actor’s craft through work on scenes and monologues from classic and contemporary plays with an emphasis on performance work that is authentic, specific and courageous. The class runs from October 14 to November 18 on Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m.

In addition to group classes, Mr. Hamilton also offers private coaching in his studio and online via webcam. For those seeking to prepare an audition, Mr. Hamilton can help select material to highlight individual strengths, provide audition techniques designed to minimize nerves and maximize confidence and authenticity and assist with crafting effective resumes, headshots and other promotional materials.

A co-founder of Bay Street Theatre, Mr. Hamilton has performed extensively for more than 30 years Off-Broadway and in regional theatres across the country. He has been teaching acting for more than 20 years.

The fee for the six-week class session is $375. Enrollment is limited to 12 students, age 18 and up, and admission is by interview. Private coaching is $125 per hour. For more, visit stevehamiltoncoaching.com or call (516) 816-2215.
