Hampton Theatre Company Holds Auditions for ‘Rose and Walsh’

authorStaff Writer on Aug 7, 2023

The Hampton Theatre Company will hold auditions for two roles (one female, one male) in a new production of “Rose and Walsh” by Neil Simon. Directed by George Loizides, the production opens October 19, and runs through November 5. Rehearsals begin September 15.

Auditions for union and nonunion performers will be by appointment on Sunday, August 27, and Monday, August 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. both days at the Quogue Community Hall, 125 Jessup Avenue, Quogue.

“Rose and Walsh” follows two great literary figures and the depth and consequence of their enduring love. At a beautiful beach house on the East End, Rose Steiner, a celebrated but near penniless author, receives nightly visits from Walsh McLaren, the love of her life and a famous writer himself. Now Walsh must go away forever, but not before hatching a plan to secure Rose’s financial future that will require the help of Rose’s assistant, Arlene Moss, and a talented young writer, Gavin Clancy.

The roles of Rose Steiner and Walsh McLaren have been cast. Available roles are:

Arlene Moss, 34, Rose’s assistant and sometime caregiver; Gavin Clancy, mid-30s, a young, talented writer.

To schedule an audition appointment, send headshots and resumes along with appointment request to info@hamptontheatre.org, or call 631-653-8955. Performers who would like to audition but who cannot make it on the scheduled dates may request a separate appointment, at the discretion of the director.
