Hamptons Dance Project (HDP) returns to Fireplace Lodge in East Hampton for its seventh season of outdoor performances, set for August 8 to 10. Presented for the first time in partnership with LTV Studios, this year’s program features a dynamic mix of returning artists and choreographers alongside exciting new voices in the dance world.
The performances take place on a scenic 20-acre farm in Springs, overlooking Gardiner’s Bay, and continue HDP’s tradition of bringing world-class dance to the East End in a breathtaking natural setting.
The choreographic lineup for HDP VII includes returning favorites such as Gregory Dolbashian, artistic director of The Dash Ensemble; Jorma Elo, resident choreographer of Boston Ballet; Tony Award-winner and New York City Ballet resident choreographer Justin Peck; and internationally acclaimed choreographer Christopher Wheeldon. New choreographers this season include Jonathan Royce Windham and Ballet Met artistic director Remi Wortmeyer.
Featured dancers include returning American Ballet Theatre (ABT) artists Sierra Armstrong, Aran Bell, Lauren Bonfiglio, Catherine Hurlin, Tyler Maloney and HDP artistic director Jose Sebastian. Also returning are tap artist Jarod Alexander, Lloyd Knight and Jonathan Royce Windham. New dancers joining the project this season include Griffin Massey, Carly Olson and ABT’s Joseph Markey.
“This will mark our fifth year at Fireplace Lodge and our first working with LTV Studios as our presenting partner,” said Sebastian. “LTV’s creative director, Josh Gladstone, has been one of our most trusted advisors since we launched in 2019, and we’re delighted to have this chance to work with him, LTV executive director Michael Clark and their wonderful team.”
For the first time, HDP will offer a Summer Intensive for students ages 12 to 16. Held August 11 to 15 at LTV Studios in Wainscott, the program will be led by HDP ballet mistress Olga Kostritzky, ballet master Sean Stewart, ABT principal dancer Gillian Murphy and choreographer Craig Salstein.
