The second annual Hamptons Jazz Fest kicks off the 2022 summer season on Friday, June 3, at 6 p.m. with a live concert by Noah Preminger Quartet at Southampton Arts Center, 25 Jobs Lane, Southampton.

Hamptons Jazz Fest was conceived last year in response to the devastating effect COVID-19 had and continues to have on the performing arts community. The concerts are intended to expose as many people as possible to the wonderful diverse world of jazz music with mostly free concerts, small and large, inside and outside and accessible to all. Many venues, restaurants, libraries, arts organizations, and galleries will participate in this music extravaganza, which will feature 30 or more concerts in the coming months. Participating venues include Parrish Art Museum, The Church, Gosman’s Dock, Hampton Library, LTV and more. Cultural diversity and roots of jazz will be celebrated with performing artists from the U.S. and abroad. Music styles will range from World, Latin and Jazz — all of which are not usually represented on the East End.

On Saturday, July 2, at 7 p.m. the festival will present “Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis.” This headliner event will be held at Southampton Arts Center. Due to limited seating and high demand, it’s recommended tickets be purchased in advance. Twenty tickets will be donated to local nonprofit organizations enabling low income and youth to attend the event. This is the first time Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis is performing on the East End.

Many of the concerts will be recorded for The Jam Session Radio Hour and broadcast at a later date on 88.3 WLIW-FM. Most concerts are free or tickets can be purchased online by visiting the participating venues. Visit hamptonsjazzfest.org for a complete music calendar and links to participating venues.
