authorJack Sullivan on Aug 3, 2015

This Columbus Day weekend, the 23rd annual Hamptons International Film Festival will be the last for one of its founders.

After nearly two decades as chairman, Stuart Match Suna will step down and pass the torch to two board members, actor Alec Baldwin and attorney Randy Mastro, former New York City deputy mayor and partner in the Manhattan office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.

“Both Alec and Randy have been instrumental to the festival over the past decade, and I’m very pleased to see them taking on these positions,” Mr. Suna said in a press release. “I’m incredibly grateful for the past 18 years having served as chairman and seeing the festival grow since its inauguration. It’s an honor to have such varied talents as Alec and Randy elected to lead HIFF.”

For the last seven years, Mr. Baldwin, who is also president of Guild Hall in East Hampton, has produced the film festival’s SummerDocs series. “Stuart Match Suna has had a clear vision for HIFF ever since its inception, and I feel very privileged to have been part of such a passionate team,” Mr. Baldwin said in a press release. “I’m thrilled to continue with the festival as we look to lay the ground for many more exciting years ahead.”
