The Hamptons International Film Festival’s Screenwriters Lab, going into its 16th year, will take place April 8 through April 10, providing emerging screenwriting talent the opportunity to pair with established writers and creative producers for a one-on-one mentoring experience. The lab also gives new talent the chance to meet with board members, sponsors and the local artistic community. With scripts from past writers produced year after year, the lab continues to be an inspiring and safe place for artists to find and hone their creative vision. Examples of work fostered in the screenwriters lab that went on to find success includes “Short Term 12” with Brie Larson and John Gallagher, “The Discoverers” staring Griffin Dunne, “Little Accidents” featuring Elizabeth Banks and Chloe Sevigny, and “Twelve” with Ellen Barkin and Emma Roberts.

Submissions to be considered for the screenwriters lab will be accepted starting December 1. The regular deadline is December 15, with the late deadline on December 29. For more information: hamptonsfilmfest.org.
