High School Art Winners Celebrated At Parrish

The Parrish Art Museum in Southampton has selected 21 East End high school seniors for Awards of Distinction in connection with their participation in the Parrish Art Museum’s “2012 High School Exhibition.” An awards presentation will be held on Sunday, February 26, at 3 p.m. at the museum.

Work from more than 150 students from all over Long Island was considered for the awards. Local recipients include: Maura Burke from Eastport-South Manor High School; Brianna Fullam and Ryan Kumicz from Southampton High School; Alexandra Giraldo, Fausto Mateo-Munoz, Kristina Moucha, Tyler Sizse and Christian Westergard from East Hampton High School; Ned Haweeli from Bridgehampton High School; Scott Hayes from Westhampton Beach High School; and Liam Mackey from Pierson High School.

The jurors were Water Mill-based gallery owner Sara Nightingale and Neill Slaughter, an artist and art professor who teaches at Long Island University, C.W. Post campus.
