“How The Other Half Loves,” opening on Thursday, May 23, at the Quogue Community Hall, is a story about three couples, an indiscretion, a cover-up and the accusations and crumbling alibis that follow.
The play, written by Alan Ayckbourn and staged by the Hampton Theatre Company, is a comedy about relationships. It’s also a unique opportunity for the HTC to utilize an ingenious theatrical device: a split set on one stage, with a shared common dining table. As written by Mr. Ayckbourn, the shared table allows the actors to hold two different, disastrous dinner parties on two different evenings, which play out simultaneously in the same scene.
The cast includes Andrew Botsford, Rosemary Cline, Jessica Ellwood, Jonathan Holtzman, Mark McCarthy and Jane Cortney. Diana Marbury directs.
“How The Other Half Loves” opens on Thursday, May 23, and runs through June 9 at the Quogue Community Hall. Show times are Thursdays at 7 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for seniors 65 and over and $10 for students under 21.
