Fine art meets award-winning photography in a mesmerizing display of Iceland’s beauty and culture with “Icelandic Poetry,” an exhibition at the Southampton Cultural Center (SCC) showcasing the vision of photographers Ron Buchter and Keith A. Manning.

Prepare to be transported to the enchanting landscapes of Iceland through the lenses of Buchter of East Hampton and Manning of Brooklyn. Their joint exhibition is a visual celebration of Iceland’s captivating beauty and cultural allure. The exhibition is scheduled to take place from Tuesday, September 12, through Sunday, October 1, at SCC.

Ron Buchter, a self-taught fine art photographer with an extensive portfolio of exhibitions, brings a distinct perspective to “Icelandic Poetry.” His evocative images capture the essence of Iceland’s natural wonders, showcasing the interplay of light, texture, and emotion in every frame.

Keith A. Manning, an accomplished award-winning photographer, weaves his deep connection with Iceland into his remarkable work. Having immersed himself in Iceland’s landscapes through multiple visits, Manning’s photography resonates with the genuine spirit and rich narrative of the land, culture, and people.

The “Icelandic Poetry” exhibition promises a multi-sensory experience, allowing visitors to discover Iceland’s breathtaking vistas, from majestic glaciers to sweeping valleys. The exhibition’s timing in early fall adds a layer of magic to the visual journey, encapsulating the transition of seasons in this remote and poetic land.

To celebrate the exhibition’s opening and honor the artists’ work, a wine and cheese reception is planned for Saturday, September 23, from 4 to 6 p.m. The reception will include live classical music. Individuals who are enthusiastic about art, culture and the beauty of Iceland are cordially invited to attend this memorable event.

In the spirit of giving back to the community, a portion of the proceeds from the “Icelandic Poetry” exhibition will support Hampton Youth Performing Arts at the Southampton Cultural Center. This initiative seeks to nurture the artistic talents of young performers and artists within the local community.

The Southampton Cultural Center is located at 25 Pond Lane in Southampton Village and welcomes visitors Monday to Friday, noon to 4 p.m., and on weekends from noon to 6 p.m. For more information, visit scc-arts.org.
