This weekend, the inaugural Hamptons Sculpture Walk, a new collaborative cultural initiative uniting premier arts institutions and sculpture sites across the region, comes to the East End. Taking place October 4 and 5 and timed to coincide with the Hamptons International Film Festival (October 3 to 13), the event invites the public to experience a unique self-guided journey through monumental art and inspiring landscapes.
Designed in the spirit of a gallery walk — reimagined for outdoor settings — the Hamptons Sculpture Walk highlights the creative synergy between art, nature, and community. Participating venues include legacy institutions such as the Parrish Art Museum, Guild Hall and the Southampton Arts Center, as well as the newly launched SculptHamptons outdoor exhibition in Water Mill.
“Events like Hamptons Sculpture Walk highlight what makes our region so special — a vibrant community where art, landscape, and people come together,” said Corinne Erni, Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman, chief curator of art and education, deputy director of curatorial affairs at the Parrish Art Museum. “Now is the time to visit our remarkable art institutions. We are thrilled to invite more people to the Parrish to experience all that we have to offer.”
Over the launch weekend, visitors are encouraged to explore independently at their own pace. Select sites will offer curated tours, artist talks, and special programming. Among the weekend’s highlights is the SculptHamptons Closing Season Party on Sunday, October 5, from 3 to 5 p.m., inviting guests to gather among monumental works and meet artists on site.
“The Hamptons has a long tradition of championing art in dialogue with nature,” said Gala Kavachnina, co-curator of SculptHamptons. “This walk builds on the legacy of our cultural institutions while bringing new voices into the fold.”
The Hamptons Sculpture Walk will take place on Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The event is free and open to the public, with programming offered across sculpture gardens, museum grounds and cultural institutions at all four venues. Visitors may explore the sites independently, with special activities such as guided tours, artist talks, and public programs offered at select locations throughout the weekend.
