Every Monday, HamptonsFilm releases a new “Now Showing” offering in collaboration with various film distributors. Released on May 4 and available now was “Capital in the 21st Century,” a film directed by Justin Pemberton from distributor Kino Lorber.
Based on the international bestseller by economist Thomas Piketty, this documentary is an eye-opening journey through wealth and power, a film that breaks the popular assumption that the accumulation of capital runs hand in hand with social progress, and shines a new light on today’s growing inequalities.
Other “Now Showing” offerings coming up include; “And Then We Danced,” director Levan Akin’s film about a rivalry between male dancers vying for a spot in the National Georgian Ensemble, available the week of May 11 by distributor Music Box, and Greenwich Entertainment’s “The Booksellers,” a look inside the world of antiquarian book dealers directed by D.W. Young which will be available the week of May 18.
