Multi-hyphenate Jeff Goldblum will share his musical works on Thursday, July 25, at Canoe Place Inn in Hampton Bays, and will be joined by The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. The concert will be presented by Murmrr in partnership with LPR’s promotional arm, LPR Presents.

A gifted and much celebrated actor, Goldblum has also distinguished himself away from the big screen as a sophisticated jazz pianist. His ventures in music are accompanied by his starring roles in films like “The Big Chill,” “Independence Day” and “Jurassic Park.”

Goldblum channeled his love of music and the piano into the formation of The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra alongside musician and producer John Mastro in the 1990s. The group has played shows from coast to coast, including a weekly residency at New York’s Carlyle Hotel in 2014.

Jeff Goldblum and The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra released their debut studio album “The Capitol Studio Sessions” in 2018 on Decca Records, which debuted at number one on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. The next year saw the release of “I Shouldn’t Be Telling You This.” The albums pull from both of Goldblum’s worlds in film and music with features from creatives and musicians such as Fiona Apple, Sarah Silverman, Imelda May and trumpeter Till Brönner. Their most recent album “Plays Well With Others” was released last year and expands on the group’s sonic world.

Owned by co-founder and composer David Handler, Le Poisson Rouge (LPR) first opened its doors in 2008 in the space that was once home to Art D’Lugoff’s historic venue, The Village Gate. Goldblum has performed several shows at LPR with The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra in recent years, including an “LPR Presents” show at The Town Hall last spring. The July show will be additional chances to get to know Jeff Goldblum’s musical side through The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra and experience the group’s musical unity.

Tickets for the show are $100 to $200 at murmrr.com. Canoe Place Inn is at 239 East Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays.
