Joe Fig, an artist whose models of artists’ studios are part of the Parrish Art Museum permanent collection, will give a talk at the museum on Friday, September 23, and sign his book, “Inside the Artist’s Studio.”

In researching the book, he visited artists of all stripes in their studios and interviewed them about the materials they use, their first works to receive recognition, and their advice to artists who are just starting out.

“In my talk, I’ll focus on the creative process and being open to where it leads you,” Mr. Fig said in a statement. “I’ll cover the evolution of my work, and focus on many East End artists and the spaces where art is made.”

The talk and signing begin Friday, September 23, at 6 p.m. at the Parrish Art Museum, 279 Montauk Highway, Water Mill. Admission is $10 for the public, and free for children, students and Parrish members.
