The Bridgehampton Museum will open “New Space,” a solo exhibition by artist Jonathan Nash Glynn, on Saturday, October 11, from 7 to 9 p.m. The reception will be held in the museum’s newly renovated Tractor Barn at 2368 Montauk Highway.
Glynn’s latest works are large acrylic paintings inspired by images captured by the Hubble and Webb space telescopes. “At the same time, I continue to explore my own inner space, searching for what art means to me,” Glynn said.
In keeping with the exhibition’s celestial theme, the opening will feature a special stargazing event in partnership with the Hamptons Observatory, weather permitting. Guests are encouraged to bring their own telescopes and join astronomers in observing the night sky.
Connor Flanagan, executive director of the Bridgehampton Museum, said, “We have spent a lot of time this summer with the help of our friends at Marders, Sperry Tents, and Water Mill Building Supply along with some fantastic volunteers to build out this new space in our barn to showcase ‘New Space.’ I am thrilled to be partnering with both Jonathan and the Hamptons Observatory on this opening.”
“New Space” will be on view through October 25. Admission to the reception is free and open to the public. The Tractor Barn is located at 2368 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton. For more information, visit bridgehamptonmuseum.org.
