The Arts Center at Duck Creek will present the Kazemde George Trio on Thursday, July 31, at 6 p.m. as part of its 2025 New Music Series curated by Peter Watrous.

The trio features Kazemde George on saxophone, Tyrone Allen II on bass and Kayvon Gordon on drums.

George is a Brooklyn-based jazz saxophonist, composer, educator and beat-maker known for emotionally direct melodies, a warm tone and thoughtful restraint. Raised in Berkeley, California by Caribbean parents, he was immersed in diverse musical traditions and began playing piano, saxophone and percussion at an early age.

He completed the Harvard/New England Conservatory Joint Program, earning a bachelor’s degree in neurobiology from Harvard and a master’s degree in jazz composition from NEC. In 2012, he received Harvard’s George Peabody Gardener Fellowship to study traditional music in Havana, Cuba.

George’s debut album, “I Insist,” was released in 2021 on Greenleaf Music. His sophomore album is expected in 2026 on La Reserve Records. He has performed with artists including Solange Knowles, David Murray, Jason Moran and Ethan Iverson and at venues such as Dizzy’s Club, The Jazz Gallery, Yoshi’s, Lincoln Center, Panama Jazz Festival and AfroPunk.

The performance will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. If it rains, the concert will be moved indoors. Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic, a beach chair and enjoy the evening. The concert is free, but space and parking are limited. Early arrival is recommended and guests are asked to be respectful of neighbors. The Arts Center at Duck Creek is located at 127 Squaw Road in East Hampton. More information is available at duckcreekarts.org.
