On June 24 and 25, The Drawing Room in East Hampton will present artwork by minimalist artists Mel Kendrick and Thomas Nozkowski. Mr. Kendrick, who has an Masters in Fine Art from Hunter College, works in New York and has been a part-time resident of North Haven for 30 years. Notable for his self-referential sculpting technique, his honors include the Francis J. Greenburger Award and the Academy Award for Art from the American Academy of Arts. He will display his four Cell Drawings and two Blue Holes drawings, which each feature a unique arrangement of interlocking biomorphic and angular shapes articulated with varying degrees of relief and bold primary color.

Mr. Nozkowski, who holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Cooper Union, will also share select paintings and drawings that are characterized by eccentric shapes in curious juxtapositions of color and pattern. Throughout his more than forty-year career, Nozkowski’s works have been included in the Royal Academy in London, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Mestna Galerija in Ljubliana, Slovenia.
