The White Room Gallery will present “Hot Shots” from Tuesday, August 20, through Saturday, September 21. The opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, August 23, from 5 to 7 p.m.
The exhibition spotlights Russell Young, who renders iconic figures such as Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Brigitte Bardot and Mick Jagger in striking diamond‑dust portraits. His recent Dutch flower-inspired works meditate on themes of decaying beauty and hidden power.
“A hot shot is someone who makes an impact or captures something stunning, sexy and cool,” the curators note. The show’s title reflects that energy, with Young’s life story — including surviving multiple near‑fatal incidents — embodying art born of resilience.
Other featured photographers include Terry O’Neill, Norman Parkinson, Greg Lotus, Rafaelle Ferrari, Mital Patel and Bob Tabor, each contributing perspectives on celebrity, narrative and visual allure.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit Fighting Chance, a Sag Harbor-based cancer support organization.
The White Room Gallery is at 3 Railroad Avenue in East Hampton. For more information, visit thewhiteroom.gallery.
