The East Hampton Library will present the next event in its 2025 Tom Twomey Series on Friday, May 16, at 5:30 p.m. with “Looking Back: My Time With the D’Amicos & The Art Barge.” Spanning from 1975 to the present, Chris Kohan, president of the board of trustees at The Victor D’Amico Institute of Art and The Art Barge will share the history and lives of Mabel and Victor D’Amico, the founders of the Art Barge, and his 50 years associated with them.

The D’Amicos were pioneering art educators and Victor’s “Summer Vacation Painting Class” programs played an important role in the growing East End arts scene in the second half of the 20th century. With images of The Art Barge and the D’Amico House, as well as archival and motivational teaching images, this presentation will leave participants inspired and ready to create.

Admission to the program is free. It will take place in the library’s Baldwin Family Lecture Room. Advanced reservations are requested but not required. For additional event information and to reserve a seat, visit tomtwomeyseries.org. East Hampton Library is at 159 Main Street in East Hampton.
