To get the holiday shopping and decorating season off on the right foot, the Southampton History Museum will host a special show and sale of magical treasures with its Carriage House Holiday Shop and Designer Tree Auction beginning Thanksgiving weekend and running through the first weekend of December.

The museum’s Designer Tree Auction features famed homemaking doyenne Martha Stewart and many other well-known designers using their considerable talents to create tabletop holiday trees that will be on view in Rogers Mansion. A silent auction of the tabletop trees begins Friday, November 26, at 11 a.m., and ends Saturday, December 4, at 4 p.m., and it benefits the museum’s educational programs.

The Holiday Shop will be open the same days and filled with great treasures like those found all summer long in the museum’s Carriage House Shop, plus lots of exceptional items they’ve been saving for this event. In addition to vintage jewelry, handbags and jazzy clothes, there will be ornaments — both new and vintage — great stocking stuffers for children, books about Southampton, and items by local artisans.

“This is a great way to get the family out after Thanksgiving and begin the festive season,” said Tom Edmonds, the Southampton History Museum’s executive director.

Rogers Mansion is at 17 Meeting House Lane, Southampton. For more information, visit southamptonhistory.org.
