The Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center will open “Men of Fire: José Clemente Orozco and Jackson Pollock” on Thursday, August 2. The exhibit will remain on view through October 27.
The exhibition explores the crucial influence of a giant of 20th-century Mexican art on one of his most fervent North American admirers. A reception and gallery talk on that theme is planned for Sunday, August 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. with Helen A. Harrison, Sarah Powers and Michael Taylor.
“Men of Fire” is accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue, which includes scholarly essays by art historians and curators, including Mary K. Coffey, Sharon Lorenzo, Lisa Mintz Messinger, and Stephen Polcari, who are featured in a series of lectures on Sundays in August.
