“Mixed Nuts,” Studio 3’s “Nutcracker” performance, is returning for 2022. The multi-discipline dance presentation of original ballet, tap, contemporary and hip hop dance choreography is staged annually at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor. This year’s “Mixed Nuts” will be presented at Bay Street from December 16 to 18.
This production is a mash-up, and simply put, each year since2011, the Studio 3 “Nutcracker” has taken a different “twist” on the ballet. Since 2011 the famous classic holiday story from the “Nutcracker” has been told using the storyline from other familiar tales. Past “Mixed Nuts” productions have included the theme of “The Wizard of Oz,” “Annie,” “Peter Pan” and “The Grinch” to name a few. The “Mixed Nuts” 2022 theme will be inspired by the classic holiday film “Home Alone.”
“Mixed Nuts” will be performed Friday, December 16, at 7 p.m., Saturday, December 17, at 11 a.m. and Sunday, December 18, at 1 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Visit baystreet.org or dancestudio3.com for details. Bay Street Theater is on Long Wharf in Sag Harbor.
