Monday Night Movies will return to the Great Lawn in Westhampton Beach this summer, making this the fourth consecutive year of the town’s popular outdoor film series.
Mayor Maria Moore began the movie screenings in 2015 to much success and the event has grown each year—and the audience with it. Now the night will be extended, including special events preceding the movie.
The first film of the season, “Jaws,” will be shown on Monday, July 2, at sundown, around 8:30 p.m., and will be preceded by a beach ball giveaway and “sharkie selfies.”
The rest of the season will consist of “The Never Ending Story” on July 9, “Grease” on July 16, “Goonies” on July 23, “Black Panther” on July 30, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” on August 6, “Pitch Perfect” on August 13, “Casablanca” on August 20, and “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” on August 27. The movies are rated no higher than PG-13 to keep the event family friendly and fun for all ages.
The Westhampton Free Library will host the event and it will continue to be free to the public. The only thing viewers need to worry about bringing is lawn chairs and blankets, as the popcorn will be provided.
