With perfect weather conditions setting the stage for the eighth annual Sag Harbor American Music Festival, event organizers said it was the most successful festival to date with likely record attendance over the weekend. Following a pair of concerts at the Bay Street Theater and Old Whalers' Church on Thursday and Friday, dozens of bands performed before lively crowds on two stages, one sponsored by Jackson Dodds and Co. in Carruthers Alley next to The American Hotel, and another in a tent next to Dodds & Eder, which was sponsored by The Sag Harbor Express. In addition, local businesses opened their doors to original, live music, all for no charge to those in attendance. Some performances took place on sidewalks, others in parking lots. Photographer Michael Heller made the rounds.
