A Native Artisan & Literary Fair will open on Friday, November 25, at the Southampton Arts Center, 25 Jobs Lane, Southampton as part of the celebration of Native American Heritage Month. Featuring a selection of artwork, crafts, and jewelry from Shinnecock Nation artisans, the event will take place in SAC’s gallery. Throughout the day Friday, there will also be traditional drumming, dancing and a selection of Native foods offered. The event will begin at noon and ends at 5 p.m. There will be a Shinnecock history talk given by Shane Weeks starting at 3 p.m. A selection of literature focused on Native American culture and trees will also be available for purchase in cooperation with Canio’s Books.

Admission to the Native Artisan & Literary Fair and SAC’s current show, “A Celebration of Trees” exhibition is free.
