New Home For The Jam Session

authorStaff Writer on Feb 25, 2022

Beginning March 1, the Sag Harbor Masonic Club will be hosting The Jam Session every Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Wamponamon Masonic Temple above the Whaling Museum. The Jam Session is inspired by the late-night jam sessions and loft rehearsals in New York City. The organization’s founders believe that the evolution and survival of improvisational music takes place in front of a live audience, being inclusive and accessible to all who want to engage. Its mission is to promote live progressive music by hosting weekly jam sessions as well as collaborating with radio stations, television stations, organizations, bands and various promoters of live music to create a consistent venue for quality music — primarily promoting jazz, Latin and world music. The Jam Session also works to provide a venue for up-and-coming and professional musicians and a creative and nurturing venue where musicians can practice their craft before a live audience, creating a space where they can network and showcase their talent. The Jam Session also strives to offer people of all ages and demographics a place where they can enjoy eclectic live music for low cost on a consistent basis.

The Masonic Music Series is a singer songwriter series featuring the best of the East End’s musical performers in an intimate setting. Performance are in the unique Inner Sanctum of the Masonic Temple. The $15 admission supports gifts to local charities. The music series is produced by the Freemason Brothers of Wamponamon Lodge. The Masonic Temple is located at 200 Main Street, Sag Harbor above the Sag Harbor Whaling Museum with plenty of parking in the rear of the building.
