Bedside Reading is bringing nine new books to its free summer book giveaway program, now in its eighth year. Guests staying at inns across the East End over the July 4 weekend will receive curated book bags featuring novels, memoirs, nonfiction and mysteries.

Participating hotels include Baker House 1650, Journey East Hampton, Maidstone Hotel and Mill House Inn in East Hampton; 1708 House, Capri Hotel and Southampton Inn in Southampton; Beachcomber Resort & Spa and Marram Montauk in Montauk; and Hotel Moraine on the North Fork.

Book highlights include New York Times bestsellers "Becoming Her" by Monica Yates and "Layered Leadership" by Lawrence R. Armstrong, Amazon bestsellers "King of the Groove" by John “JR” Robinson and "The Rancher Before Stilettos" by Marcia Cromer, as well as award-winning titles "Singing in the Cornfield" by Bethany Jones, "The Naked Lady" by Janna Brooke Wallack, "Tales of a Pet Vet" by Dr. Dawn Filos, the critically acclaimed "Whirlaway" by Robert Wintner, and the children’s book "Bella’s Big Girl Bed" by Kristina Luccia.

To celebrate its eighth summer, Bedside Reading will host a public event with author talks, wine and lite bites on Tuesday, August 19, at the Capri Hotel Southampton.
