The Offshore Art & Film Festival is back and has a full program for its second annual edition in Montauk, marking a celebration of the interplay between art and film.

Dubbed an “Art by Day & Film by Night” event, Offshore will showcase art installations during the daylight hours, and then screen independent films at sundown, with notable speakers, industry mixers and a series of filmmaker Q&As and panels. Film categories slated for the weekend will be Surf & Skate, Comedic Short/Feature, Documentary, TV Pilot, Dramatic Feature/Short, Experimental Art Film, Horror, and of course a vibrant student film program.

On Friday, September 22, The Lucore Art Gallery will kick off the festival with a VIP gala from 7 to 10 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to indulge in a remarkable lineup of independent films and unreleased pilot episodes, including “Hit Man: Secrets of Lies”, directed by Elias Plagianos, and starring Richard Kind. An intimate panel discussion and Q&A with the filmmakers and cast will follow. Food and beverage will also be on site during this special event.

On Saturday, September 23, and Sunday, September 24, Offshore will be at the grounds of Hero Beach Club, adjacent to one of Montauk’s most beautiful beaches. Showtimes for both days will kick off at 3 p.m., with local photographers and painters, including drone artist Joanna Steidle on Saturday, and oil painter Candace Ceslow on Sunday, exhibiting their works and taking part in moderated panel discussions with the audience. At sundown the films screenings will commence via a state-of-the-art visual and audio system. Notable filmmakers and curators such as Kelcey Edwards and Mashonda Tifrere will be front and center, taking part in a panel discussion and Q&A. Food and beverage will also be available.

Offshore Art & Film is a cultural organization dedicated to fostering artistic brilliance and contributing to the local community’s vitality. By nurturing both emerging and established talent and proving a platform for independent filmmakers, artists, and fashion designers, Offshore is striving to become a driving force in the intersection of art, film and fashion.
