Offshore Art & Film will return to the Montauk Yacht Club for its fourth annual festival, set to take place September 25 to 26. The two-day event will feature a lineup of independent film screenings, a panel discussion and opportunities for emerging creatives to connect with the Montauk community.
The festival kicks off Thursday, September 25, from 7 to 9 p.m. with the Offshore VIP Gala and a special screening of the Emmy award-winning documentary series “100 Foot Wave” (“Cortes Bank” episode from season three). The screening will be followed by a Q&A panel offering a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process. Big wave, rider and Long Island native Will Skudin will take part in the panel.
On Friday, September 26, the main film program will run from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Montauk Yacht Club, highlighting a curated selection of 10 independent films from emerging and established filmmakers followed by a Q&A panel. Drinks and nibbles will be available. The films are: “West Landing” directed by Doug Gallo; “Bird Poop” directed by Chase D. Markoff; “That Creep From the Bar Last Night” directed by Michael Coppola; “Sand Dancers” directed by Connor Langley; “Rule Number 2” directed by Mark Kiefer; “Oopsie Daisy” directed by Kira Beckerman; “Werewolves in Brooklyn” directed by Justin Suarez; “Robin” directed by Barney Miller; “Concrete Valhalla” directed by James Haddad; “It Will Happen to Us Again” directed by Sarah Bloom.
“Art by day. Film by night,” organizers said in a statement. “Offshore was founded to bring emerging creatives to Montauk while fostering community through cinema and the arts.”
