Bay Street Theater has announced an open call for its upcoming production of “Of Mice and Men,” by John Steinbeck. The production will be directed by Joe Minutillo.

Auditions for the production, which will begin rehearsals October 13 and run through November 28, will be on Monday, September 21 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and from 2:30 to 6 p.m. at Bay Street Theater, at the corner of Main and Bay streets on Long Wharf in Sag Harbor. Preparation materials are available at baystreet.org.

The casting will be for all parts, including George (male, late 20s-early 30s; a small, sharp-faced farm hand), Lennie’s caretaker and a good natured man; Lennie (male, late 20s – early 30s; huge, not bright), a mentally challenged man who relies on George for his care; the quiet, observant, master ranch hand Slim; Candy (a 60 to 70 year old man), who is the eldest worker on the ranch; The Boss (male, 40s-50s), the superintendent of the ranch; Curley (male, 30s), The Boss’s son and the antagonist of the story; Curley’s Wife (female, 20 to 30 years old); Carlson (male, late 20s to 40), a ranch hand and second in command to Slim; Whit (male, 20 to 30), another ranch hand; and Crooks (black male, ages late 30s to 50), who gets his name from his crooked back.
