‘Our Hamptons,’ A Podcast About The East End

authorStaff Writer on May 12, 2022

On May 10, East Hampton residents Esperanza Leon and Irwin Levy launched “Our Hamptons,” a podcast about history and folklore, preservation and sense of place. The hosts invite listeners to eavesdrop on their conversations celebrating East End splendor while acknowledging its challenges.

Leon grew up in East Hampton and has lived on the East End most of her life. An art historian with Venezuelan and Spanish roots, she established SOLAR in 2001, a gallery devoted to Latin American Art in East Hampton. A passion for history and love of where she lives led to serving on East Hampton Town’s Architectural Review Board and the creation in 2021 of the Wainscott Heritage Project. She lives in Wainscott with her husband, two children, two dogs and a goldfish.

Levy has been a Springs resident since 1989. He is President of the East Hampton Trails Preservation Society, and often collaborates on historical walks with like-minded organizations. He was appointed by the East Hampton Town Board to serve on both the Nature Preserve and Springs Citizens Advisory Committees. He also volunteers as a docent at LongHouse Reserve.
